I am in my twenty-ninth year of teaching AP Art History and AP Economics at Davis High School in Kaysville, Utah. I love it! And I am in my twenty-seventh year of guiding groups of students and adults through Europe. I love that too! 32 trips across the Atlantic have not slaked my thirst for that remarkable place. Teaching Art History and then going back again and again to the paintings, sculptures and buildings I love is certainly a dream job. And I love sharing my enthusiasm for Europe’s past and Europe’s present with others.
Walking all over Rome, Paris and London; haunting the halls of the Louvre, the Vatican, the Musee d’ Orsay, and the British Museum; eating lots of gelato, escargot, and pasta; talking to the student from Prague, the artist from Paris, the old man from Holland and the nuns from Italy; watching Shakespeare as a groundling in the reconstructed Globe Theatre, standing on the sands of Omaha Beach in Normandy, listening to an organ recital in Notre Dame – what a way to spend a summer month!
That is what I love to do – teach and travel. And you are welcome to come along for the ride!
